Members are encouraged to get involved in one or more of our committees which benefit our membership and the community:
OUTREACH COMMITTEE:
The members of the Outreach Committee work together to identify long-term and short-term opportunities for APABA to provide support to and/or integrate with law students, other bar associations and community organizations. This committee also identifies community and/or bar association programs/events consistent with APABA’s mission and presents those programs/events to APABA's board of directors with a recommendation on whether APABA should participate. This committee helps our members to become more actively involved in bar associations, community organizations and law students, thereby generating a greater awareness of APABA and providing natural networking and leadership opportunities for our members. The sub-chairs of this committee work directly with the University of Colorado School of Law, the University of Denver College of Law, the Colorado Bar Association, the Denver Bar Association, the other Specialty Bars and various community organizations.
NOMINATING COMMITTEE:
The members of the Nominating Committee work together to identify all viable opportunities to recognize our members' achievements and to assist our members to obtain those honors. This committee also identifies and researches all judicial nominations for all state and federal courts, as well as all political candidates for all local and state offices or appointments. This committee stays updated on key local, state and federal legislation that affects our members, diversity, our profession and our community, and provides information to APABA members on such legislation. This committee also actively seeks out and encourages qualified members of APABA to seek judicial nominations and political appointments; works to obtain the support of key political leaders and judicial officers to actively support APABA's mission; and promotes APABA’s members within the legal community.
MARKETING COMMITTEE:
The members of the Marketing Committee work together to identify opportunities to propose APABA’s mission, events, membership and CLEs. The members of this committee also identify appropriate media outlets and community organizations for presentation of APABA and our mission. This committee also ensures timely circulation of APABA’s newsletter and timely updates to APABA’s other informational outlets, such as our website, Facebook and LinkedIn.
